Smokin' Aces 2: Assassin's Ball (2010)

Movie: 3.5/5
Video: 4/5
Audio: 5/5
Extras: 5/5
Overall: 4/5

Pretty Good Straight To Video Flick.

I thought the movie was pretty good. It's a prequel which brings back a lot of characters from the first film. Vinnie Jones was pretty good in all the scenes he was in. I thought Michael Parks was crazy as the lead Tremors family member in this movie. My only complaint is the actress who played "AK-47" Tremor. She is horrible in this film. She was also in that Lost Boys sequel, she was crap in that too. But luckily, she's not in the film long. 3.5/5 for movie; 4/5 for video; 5/5 for audio; 5/5 for extras; and 4/5 total.

Caligula (1979)

Movie: 2.5/5
Video: 3.5/5
Sound: 4/5
Extras: 3.5/5
Overall: 3.5/5

Caligula - I Did Not Know What I Was Getting Myself Into.

I bought a copy at Blockbuster and oh, boy! I did not know what I was getting myself into. I had no idea how crazy the film was with all the sexual content and I was just blown away by it. And that is not a good thing. I'll probably watch the film again but not for a long time.

Video:
I give it a 3.5 out of 5. It's soft but I'm sure that's due to the age of the film. It's a good 30 years old. But it looks good for it's age.

Audio:
It was good but just not that good if you catch my drift.

Extras:
A lot of extras but I ended up just skimming through them. The 2nd disc of bonus material is a DVD disc and not Blu-Ray.

Overall:
3.5 out of 5. With a soft video, decent sound, and a lackluster of a second disc with bonus mateial; this a good release if you can find it for under $15. I got it for the awesome price of $2.99 USED at Blockbuster.

Black Mask (1996)

Movie: 5/5
Video: 3.5/5
Audio: 5/5
Extras: 2/5
Overall: 3.5/5

One of my favorite Jet Li films.

This is one of my all time favs from Jet Li. I got the film on VHS in 2000, dipped for the DVD back over the summer and then bought the Blu-Ray this Christmas.

Jet Li is a supersoldier is escapes to live a normal but his fellow soldiers, known as the 701, want him to help in extorting FBI crime files. He takes on the persona of BLACK MASK and brings down the 701. It's a simple action but it's enjoyable.

The Video:

The transfer is nice in general but it could be better. There's print damage here and there which is kinda annoying. There's even a scene where a hair is seen on the screen for several seconds over Jet Li's mouth. The video also freaks out in the opening for a second, it shows Jet jumping and then it flashes and the picture freaks out.

Sound:
It's ok, there's only a 7.1 track.

Extras:
Not that much, a trivia game and trailers.

Overall:
If you like this film, then by all means get it like I did for around $20. I wouldn't pay any more money than that for this Blu-Ray. Lionsgate screwed it up and screwed up the DVD transfer too.
